_http://coolstufffromnet.blogspot.com ( do not go there!)
I had this URL before I renamed it to current one :
http://coolgadgetsandthings.blogspot.com
They even use my old banner with stupid moto :-) he he he and they put all kind of spam and junk: yakies :-)
That what will most likely happen to you when you abandon your old blog URL :-)
DIR-655
it was taking too much of my time to fix it so I got dust Microsoft
router from garage and here we go. I had to reboot it once a week or
so , but it worked.
My boss sent email about his new router and how cool it is and I saw
it one day in Costco. It also have WiFi N so will be handy when I get
new mac book.
First thing is CD: I do not know why I must but I tried: stupid stop
message about firewall I do not run. And even more stupid one to
contact ISP , yeah right ... I guess Comcast do run firewall but why
freaking roter care? Do not know. Anyway, I took cd out and conected
router old way. I bought it to save time and expected it just work .
Web UI was nice and clean, not perfect, but very responsive. It took
me some time to get my Mac and Pc see WAP and all was on. So far so
good. I also liked help on every item: even history note on TKIP
protocol and such.
The UGLY: my Toshiba laptop drops conection once a minute. Log say:
authentication and de-authentication. Googled: others have this. May
be my wifi card. Tried find new driver( yeah right - mind you my wifi
card is not intel that people belive have issue) so I wasted some more
of my time and tried all of many options from forum that d-link seems
to suggest. Nothing.. Still drops conection.
Packed it back... Conected my old router.
I love thing : just work . I like to play with h/w and s/w and do not
mind if something does not work. But when most of the things does not
I consider it waste of time. That for example why I did not instaled
Vista on computers I use myself and why I love iPhone :-)
Bottom line : D-link still sacks: just google for it;-)

I am not alone in this deep shit!!! Apple screw me over!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
AT&T would not admith that this is THEIR fucking problem, not mine, but read this :
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1154967
For the first time I hit the issue that is not temporary and tech support ( as usual) have no idea J ( it work for me , duh !)
iPhone gave me some trouble during activation ( many people had that), but it took less than 12 hours. – already forgot. J
Safari can crash on me once in a while , yeah, fine, any other browser does the same.
I was crashing contacts when taking picture right into new contact. Hm, not a big deal.
But yesterday, my eMail client stopped to sync.( or at least I noticed) J
I think I installed new firmware like day or so before J
I tried to experimenting with IMPA for gmail to fix this issue and I saw nice “Exchange” button as protocol choice: NEW! ( with POP and IMAP that where there) . While it is still kind of place holder for IMAP, I think this is a sign that Apple will ship *real* Exchange sync soon. Probably as Christmas present to our company employees that live in Outlook 24/7 J
But what it explained to me : Apple engineers DID touched eMail client ( so I am not dreaming …)
Anyway, no matter what I did , including restore ( it was not one that Jimbo wrote, but it worked) I cannot get my email client work again. ( It is half working – I can sent e-mail without client realizing it happened J and I cannot read any new emails)
Now reps. Want me to go trough “special” bare metal restore J
Anyway, that really sux J… but I still love my iPhone J

Vista
buisness customers refused to upgrade. While it is also very slow on
new hardware, Apple managed to make Leopard run as fast on same
hardware. That more like it, don't you think so? ... But we all know
that Gods does not make pots...

I wana meet him!

There's absolutely no reason you should be waiting the three-plus minutes it takes your computer to boot up Windows, says Woody Hobbs, CEO of Phoenix Technologies. And indeed, if Hobbs has his way, you may not have to endure those waits much longer.
Phoenix says its new technology, HyperSpace, will offer mobile PC users the ability to instantly fire up their most used apps -- things like e-mail, web browsers and various media players -- without using Windows, simply by pressing the F4 button.
"As Windows gets more and more complex, we've seen startup times get longer and longer," says Hobbs. "If I go to the airport and try to connect to a Wi-Fi network, I'm waiting for five minutes just to connect. That's ridiculous -- people usually just give up and use their cell phones or PDAs."
