Will it blend?

After my cheapo blender burned I had to shop for a new one to make ice
creams and shakes. Blendtec came to mind. The blend iPhones and
dimonds. Unfortunatly review in WIRED was not in it favor. After
trying Fusion by Oyster I did more research and picked 5 speed Kitchen
Aid in Costco for 58$. I wanted new model with plastic jar, but as
review said and as I saw in store, for round holes made for no aparent
reason already started cracks on a new jar, so it is just bad design.
As long as I do not need blend electronic equipment and dimond rings I
am happy with a new one and like it nice red look and solid design. It
has electronic regulator on motor speed and quet when runs. Good one .

Was speed of light broken ?

If you read slahdot you probably bumped in to this one :-)

http://arxiv.org/abs/0708.0681

I do not think so :-) yet ... But there are a lot of experiments that play with speed of waves and quantum effects ( this one is actual cool and may give us some thing if we can only find out how to do it on greater distances :-))

Anyway, just for fun :-)

Here is a scientific explanation :

Aephraim Steinberg, a quantum optics expert at the University of Toronto, Canada, doesn't dispute Nimtz and Stahlhofen's results. However, Einstein can rest easy, he says. The photons don't violate relativity: it's just a question of interpretation.
Steinberg explains Nimtz and Stahlhofen's observations by way of analogy with a 20-car bullet train departing Chicago for New York. The stopwatch starts when the centre of the train leaves the station, but the train leaves cars behind at each stop. So when the train arrives in New York, now comprising only two cars, its centre has moved ahead, although the train itself hasn't exceeded its reported speed.

"If you're standing at the two stations, looking at your watch, it seems to you these people have broken the speed limit," Steinberg says. "They've got there faster than they should have, but it just happens that the only ones you see arrive are in the front car. So they had that head start, but they were never travelling especially fast."

Sony PS2 rules!

Call me old fationed by I love PS2. I am not a gamer and originaly got
it with Nike game that utilize video camera and help you stay fit. I
like simulators and I got GT as well. As time go I got some games for
kids including Play2 with camera. I think camera in PS may be as cool
as Wii but people do not talk much. I got drum controler and dance
pad. After that my game collection slowly grow as I by older games for
10-15$. Unlike any other controller Sony is only 120$ and very small
and quiet. A lot of great games and last year or older titles cost
next to nothing so you can get 3-5 titled instead one Wii or 360
title. Well, did I said it has tons of games? I even picked up cool
poker with video recently that may not be as skilled as Poker Academy
but more fun to play as it trush talk back to you and 3d avatars.

Star wars 2 lego for Sony PS2

Finding less gory games is not easy and this old classic is real gem.
My kid took controler from my hands to continue fight for freedom. For
15$ new this is a fantastic title. PS games win over PC games in
respect of compartability. Even old PS2 game works, while on PC even
new one may dislike some think like DirectX version or say that it is
not win95 or Vista.

My friend Mario is a very nice and funny guy as you know. He like scooters and this is in his Italian blood. His wife bought him one as a present : http://windrago.wordpress.com/2005/09/08/zum-zum-zuma/ I had a chance to try it yerstday. You know... we all like to feel "zi-Power" between our legs :-) He-He. Mario started this thing up and masterfuly positioned it facing his cool Black Mazda, then he removed his hands from brakes. Duh! We Russians do not ride Vespa when we still sucking milk, like all Italians do. Next moment I found myself rushing to shiny black car with some crazy beast between my legs and then we crashed to a car weel. My last encounter with moto-scicle ( Java-brand ) was an exercise in trying to switch correct gear and then slowly release clutch and adding gas before engeen dies. But this Yamaha just go when you put your hand on bar. WooooooooooooooooooooooW--------BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!@!!!!! Fortunately Mario jumped on brakes and then he gave me a small lecture on how to operate the scooter. It was not very difficult and I made a full circle aroudn his house. He said his wife crashed scooter first time as well and he wanted to collect some statistic if all Russian do it , I guess. so far it is 100% for 2 person sampling :-) Luckily, both machines did not suffered a visible damage and I got some andrenalin boost to keep me ruining for rest of the day. Even so I am not going to buy this cool gadget I would like to say, that 49cm Yamaha Sport scooter is absolutly kick ass : it is unbelievably powerful and quick. Some thing I would never expected from such a small engine. That is High Technology :-)

Bino is all you need for stargazing

Here is my low-tech hamock and pair of low-cost binoculars. You would
not belivs but that kick ads of even my mojo Dobsonian scope. There is
nothing compares to lie there under start night and watching stars and
satelites fly by. I offered my kids a prize for finding first star. In
our case it was a Venus of course and it was not that high as they
look;-)

iPhone updated!

iPhone updated!

Before Black Hat started in Vegas..

Yes!

Of the record: some people harder to please then others. I was driving
my wife to bus station today ( this dumn trafic and metro parking
issues) and she asked for my iPhone to check time table. She did not
used iPhone before but after I show her ON , Home and Safari button
she was able to google and open bus time table (huge and slow site
btw) it all worked like magic in my eyes, but she just complaning ...
It is slow and made face. I can not get it people. Is not that magic
you can pull such a random information in driving car in less then a
minute never using device before? I think so , but some people just
harder to please then others ;-) great product Steve!
